Morgan Management Consulting

  • Are you fed up with training that does not produce lasting results?
  • Do you have anyone in management lacking leadership skills?
  • Does your organization have people problems?

We serve busy executives by providing programs
to effectively manage their organizations

Managers are caught up in the day-to-day business of running their companies or divisions and have little time or energy to read the millions of pages written about leadership and how to effectively achieve goals through the efforts of others.  Our programs are based on research, theory, and experience and are designed to help busy managers empower their people and fulfill the missions of their organizations.

Usually, people are promoted into leadership positions because of the quality of work they produced.  Many people distinguished themselves by their ability to establish strong personal relationships.  Whatever the scenario, people rise to management levels based on what they do.  It is all about them. Promotion to leadership changes the playing field and the rules for winning. The new game is like moving from being an all-star player to being a coach. Like it or not, it is a different game.

Leadership is all about others.  It is about the effectiveness of how others perform.  It is about enabling others to contribute to the success of the organization.  It is about empowering others.  To make the transition from a star performer to effective leader requires a dramatic paradigm shift.  The demands of leadership and the additional competencies required to be a successful leader are elusive.  Before becoming a leader, it was all about self.  As a leader, it is all about them!

Many managers never make the transition. This was highlighted by the Peter Principle—that people rise in their career to the level of their own incompetence, and that the work of organizations is done by employees who have not yet reached their level of incompetence.

Morgan Management Consulting (MMC) challenges the Peter Principle by assisting people to make the leap from doer to leader, from player to coach.  That is what we do—we empower people to empower others through consultation, training and coaching solutions.

Research Based Approach

Long ago sociologists and psychologists proved that money does not motivate, yet employers continue operating under the assumption that it does.  We design and promote programs and systems based on studies in organizational behavior.  Our programs are based on the work of Peter Drucker (The Practice of Management, 1954), Herzberg’s Two-Factor theory and McGregor’s motivation studies.  We incorporate insights from earlier works of Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers, and others.  Newer publications such as Collins’ Built to Last and Good to Great, Jack Welch’s Winning, Buckingham’s First, Break All the Rules, and Wagner and Harter’s 12-The Elements of Great Managing, reinforced our basic philosophy.

Leadership by Objectives (LBO) is our flagship organizational empowerment program.  LBO enhances strategic planning, employee motivation, and performance.  It improves communication, increases understanding and acceptance of organizational goals, focuses on organizational objectives, and emphasizes results rather than activities. Our other programs include Leader Effectiveness Training (LET), Team Effectiveness Training (TET), and Executive Coaching.

Morgan Management Consulting is a catalyst for increasing the level of collaboration between employees and their supervisors and promoting clarity of communication.  We will work with you by telephone, email, and onsite.
